B&V Historym of the Agar Company

B&V is a small but very active ISO 9001/2000 certified multinational company having 3 factories in Europe, Africa and Asia, specialized in the production of a full range of different agars for food, bacteriological and technical applications.
The company has a 40 years experience in agar production and agar applications!
Besides agar productions, B&V also developed BIVI system: a full range of food stabilizers.

B&V was established in 1980 by Mr Giancarlo Buzzonetti and Mr Gianfranco Vitale, who had acquired their experience in agar agar production between 1960 and 1975 being general Managers in different agar agar factories all around the world.

	1980 B&V company started agar production in Parma.
	1993 B&V built a new modern factory located in Gattatico 10 km far from Parma. The new facilities comply with all the restrictive European rules for food production.
	1995 B&V became main shareholder in Agargel, an agar agar factory specialized in the production of agar from Gelidium, located near Bilbao in Spain.
	1995 Taking advantage of his deep know how and experience in hydrocolloids - B&V started to develop BIVI products: a complete system of different blends and functional products based on high quality hydrocolloids.
	1999 B&V became shareholder in Marokagar, a company leader in the production of agar agar from Gelidium, located in the center of Casablanca Morocco.
	2001 B&V obtained its first ISO 9002 certification for agar agar and stabilizers productions.
	2005 Marokagar factory stopped agar production in Casablanca, Morocco and started to transfer equipments to a new location in El Jadida, Morocco.
	2005 B&V signed an agreement with ASML, a new Indonesian agar factory located close to Malang (East Jawa).
	2006 Agargel factory stopped agar production in Bilbao, Spain and started to transfer equipments to ASML.
	2007 Agar production started in a new factory Algenas Maroc, located in El Jadida, Morocco. Algenas is a 100% B&V company.
	2007 ASML started the production with new equipments under total qualitycontrol of B&V manager. B&V is directly involved being responsible for production and quality and has exclusive commercial agreement to receive products from the factory. ASML is exclusive distributor for BIVI system stabilizers in Indonesia.
